I think I have been lucky to get the cast to do it justice with Nicholas Eadie fully in command of Rooster and Jeremy Waters as Ginger.I was hoping to see comment from you since I always enjoy your thoughts.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04082598079233225926noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4124858870558544212.post-66276420896231360272012-08-12T17:12:01.617+10:002012-08-12T17:12:01.617+10:00Thanks rumtytum- I clearly need an editor...or a r...Thanks rumtytum- I clearly need an editor...or a really anal friend who only looks for the grammatical and spelling errors. I often find when I go back and re-read them that there are glaring little mistakes. Happy to be told, just as you're happy to tell!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13465326595602560516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4124858870558544212.post-64057563228570001992012-08-12T13:50:43.439+10:002012-08-12T13:50:43.439+10:00"affecting" not "effecting", &..."affecting" not "effecting", "déja vu", not "de je vu"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4124858870558544212.post-30439541387066964942012-07-31T01:28:25.623+10:002012-07-31T01:28:25.623+10:00What an interesting insight about it seeming someh...What an interesting insight about it seeming somehow Irish. But I still think it's pretty slight. Re the Abbey Theatre, I saw at the Old Vic a couple of years back a production that I think was from the Abbey Theatre, and certainly the play was first staged there - Dancing at Lughnasa. Possibly the best evening I've ever spent in a theatre. Impossible to describe without sounding wet - something astonishingly beautiful was created for a few hours in that theatre. Wonders sometimes happen on a stage and when they do, you feel so glad you went.zmkchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08972549292961948240noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4124858870558544212.post-20769467826685621402012-07-30T12:10:05.672+10:002012-07-30T12:10:05.672+10:00I didn't mind it. I think it's a hard play to pull off and I don't think that they grappled with all of it- whoever plays Rooster has to be seductive as well as unhinged. It's one of those plays that is absolutely dependent on cast to make it work.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13465326595602560516noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4124858870558544212.post-65992005900522115432012-07-30T01:55:15.861+10:002012-07-30T01:55:15.861+10:00But did you really think that Jerusalem was a good...But did you really think that Jerusalem was a good play - aside from the performances? I was shocked by its success, because it seemed to me to be horridly sentimental and self-congratulatory, pandering to a middle-class audience that likes to think it's being a bit edgy.zmkchttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08972549292961948240noreply@blogger.com
